Congratulations to Immanuel United Church of Christ, Wright City, and to Leslie Held for the Dorcas Women’s Fellowship of Friedens UCC in Warrenton for taking top prizes in the WCHS’s first annual 2022 Holiday Tablescapes show and competition. Immanuel UCC’s table, “O Come All Ye Faithful,” featured Bibles and hymnals— some of which are 200 years old—along with now-retired ceramic churches from Dept. 56’s Christmas in the City collection, and Lenox Winter Greetings dishes.
Second place went to Leslie Held who designed a tablescape for the Friedens UCC Dorcas Women’s Fellowship group. The table was designed around place settings with “Friedens” emblazoned on the plates and Nativity figures at center. Held added a splash of color and expression with “Blessed” block graphic art placed on each plate.
As part of our 2022 Christmas open house festivities, visitors to the Tablescapes exhibit at the Museum voted on their favorite designs. Thank you to all of the individuals and organizations who participated in this show to help our community celebrate the holidays. We hope to see you and new designers when we feature a new Christmas Tablescapes later this year.
