The Warren County History Museum in Warrenton is inviting the community to explore a new exhibit commemorating America’s 250th anniversary, created by the Thomas Kennedy Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The exhibit highlights the nation’s founding era while connecting that story to the people and places that helped shape Warren County’s early history.
Part of a larger local observance of the nation’s semiquincentennial, the display invites visitors to reflect on 250 years of American history while bringing the story of American freedom to life and underscoring the enduring ideals of liberty, service, and civic responsibility.
The exhibit is especially meaningful in Warren County, where the Thomas Kennedy Chapter draws its name from Revolutionary War veteran Thomas Kennedy, an early settler whose legacy is woven into the county’s story. The chapter has emphasized historic preservation, education and patriotism in its community work, making this anniversary exhibit a natural extension of its mission. The group has also described its commitment to preserving history, educating future generations and serving the community.
Community members, families and history enthusiasts are encouraged to visit the museum, experience the exhibit and take part in this once-in-a-generation commemoration. By pairing national history with Warren County’s own heritage, the new exhibit offers a timely reminder that America’s story was built not only in famous cities and battlefields, but also in communities like Warren County.
