Toys

Relive your childhood and see this unique display of childhood toys

Don’t call them “vintage” or “old”! We know they’re classics.

Come see cars, firetrucks, dolls, ships, boats, planes, puzzles, board games, and more.

Everything in this display has been graciously loaned to the Museum by members and the community. Every toy on display was used and made prior to the 1960s.

Plus, a one-of-a-kind Jewett car

This toy car has brought joy to at least three generations of the Arnold Hackmann family. It has been in the Marthasville homecoming parade and used as a toy should be by many Hackmann children over the years.

Pedal cars, also known as “Children’s Toy Motor Cars,” appeared around the same time as the first cars. They were simplified versions of the full-sized cars and were made from wood and metal.
