Inside the 1904 World’s Fair with Karl Kindt
August 15 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
This slideshow with brief 1904 Edison movie clips will take us inside the 1904 World’s Fair to see things that were seen in the grand palaces by our ancestors 120 years ago.
The images are from recently discovered 8×10 glass plate negatives that have been digitized. We will zoom in upon details of what was exhibited at the Fair, what was available for purchase and we will be entertained by the spelling horse Jim Key.
You’ll also see an Edison film clip of what many think is the Hotchie Kotchie dance and we will sing together the original recording of Meet Me in St. Louis, Louis.
In addition, Kindt will bring huge 12-foot panorama images of the whole fairgrounds along with approximately 50 8×10 photos you can view. Finally, Kindt’s wife Margie found a journal written by a 19-year-old young woman who spent 30 days at the Fair and provides us insights never before available.
